what would be the advantage of locking out 5th? I assume just so you don't accidentally throw it in 5th when going for 3rd?

Yes, exactly. I think its a gearbox characteristic that the zf320 can be tricky to shift quickly/aggressively from 2-3. I've personally had this "issue" whether I was running a mild short shifter (like on my e36) or wild shifter (like previously on my e30). The lockout eradicates that "problem" if you set it like this. Though, I'm curious to change it so it only locks out reverse and see how it feels now that I have an akg selector rod installed.

Good to know. I am definitely considering this one for the future. Great purpose built shifter and that black adds some nice subtlety. Good review

          Looks awesome.

The shifter lockout reminds me of the one time I drove a last gen cougar. To get it into reverse, it had a ring below the shift knob. It took me about 10 minutes to figure that out.

Thanks for the review, I noticed that you had the universal with the S52. How tough would you think mating it with the G260?

it's all about having the correct selector rod. That's all there is to it.

I also have the g260 on my s52 swap and currently have the UUC kit.

Thinking I might have to do this over the winter, there is more slop than I would like.

anyone with a g260 do this yet? would the e36 kit be better than the universal?

I don't see why it wouldn't work if you have the correct selector rod.

I'll post something up after I can drive my car again soon. Probably will just put it up on IG though because it's easier
