Hi there,
I've been a looong time BMW enthusiast - This is my second E30 and my fifth BMW. My first E30 was a 1985 325e, it kinda sucked but I loved it. I've since had an E39, E46, and an E36 M3.
Anyway, I cruise Craigslist quite often and I just happened across this car that was up in Northern California. I decided to take a trip up and came home with the car. This was about a month ago.
It's a 1991 Granitsilber Metallic 325i 4dr - ~194k on the clock at the time of purchase. It also has a factory moonroof! Neato. It was owned by a BMW tech, but it was the recipient of some mods that I would not have done (slamming, stretched tires, that kinda stuff).
Here is how I bought the car:
It really does look the same outside from some minor changes.
In terms of mods it already had:
-Turner Chip
-Bilstein Sports and IE3's
-E90 Drophats
-Volvo lip (smh)
-Yellow fogs/highbeams
-Fill and drill Style 5's (Fill and drill is actually really well done)
-Red calipers
-Vinyl Sport seats
-370mm Mtech1 Wheel
-Z3 Short shifter
-Zhp shift knob
-E30 M3 swaybars
-iS trunklid spoiler
-Bosch Eurosmileys
-Red Bosch Dualhorns lol
-Bavauto Longtube headers
-KA motors CAI
In terms of maintenance it needed:
-Timing belt
-Accessory belts
-Cap/Rotor
-Plugs
-Rear cv boot
-Oil change
Anyway, I stopped at my new bud Sina’s grandparents house (freeride53) to bring his Euroweaves back down to LA
I got the car back down with no issues which was a relief. I promptly took care of the timing belt and water pump which was a relief. A few days afterward I took care of the cap, rotor, and belts. I also picked up some Thule roof racks for a good price.
The car was in solid shape for a daily but out of nowhere a sleeve in the lower rear strut decided to pop out. I drove my M3 for the day, bought a huge C clamp and pressed the sleeve back in and got that taken care of.
I also removed the red rings around the dual horns and got rid of the tint on the euro smileys
At some point during this I went to the Pelican Parts Cars & Coffee w Simon (2mAn), Abbi (ak-), and Charlie (Sh3rpak!ng). It was a fun time and there were some great cars!

I decided to go back to SF for a weekend getaway and visit one of my best friends who lives up there. I bought a Canon T6, 3.73 LSD, 13 Button OBC, and ordered some tires from tire rack. I was really getting over the stretched look. The car also is far too low and I’m hoping the new tires will raise the car up a bit to make it more livable.
Here are some shots I took on the drive home.

This camera was definitely a solid purchase!
Today, 2/27, I’m getting the tires mounted and tomorrow I’ll be getting an HIK fabrication skid plate installed. I’m also going to be overhauling the AC, servicing the diff and installing it, along w some few other bits like H&R Sports in hopes of raising the car up a little bit more.
Here are some shots I took over the weekend with my buds.

My future plans include:
-Get rid of yellow high beams
-New front valance
-iS lip
-Paint rear iS deck lid spoiler
-PDR/Detail
-Get rid of the red calipers
-Turbo or S5x
-Black rear seats and door cards
Cheers
Sam
