    Biased or not, the last one has about zero relevance to anything.

    You haven't posted studies... you've posted links to abstracts for which the conclusions agree with your preconceived notions of the world.

    ONE of these studies addresses defensive gun uses, which are the crux of the "numbers game".

      You must be using different stats than the ones posted because when I sorted for every crime, only two ended up with El Paso in the top ten: robbery and motor vehicle theft.

      Unfortunately for your hypothesis, the cities that did end up in the top ten safest cities for every crime were Californian, and that includes the columns where El Paso rank high.
