    Will try to save a 1987 325iC

New guy from Alabama...Looks like I came into a project, a 1987 325iC. It was put away detailed with the top down. The owner passed and the spouse didn't touch it....My list is up to about two pages as I need to go through just about everything.

Mice nests and urine smells. I do hope you got this for next to nothing. Hope the critters did not eat all the wiring as well.

Having just went with a good friend of mine to pick up 4 cars (2 bmw 1600s, 85 635csi and a 745 turbo) that were sitting in the woods for 15 years it's no small task to clean up cars that had been sitting for so long. We bug bombed them and spent hours scrubbing the urine stains and vacuuming dead bugs acorns and shit. To our surprise the 635 started up when hooked up to a new battery. I'd do the timing belt before I attempted to start that car. Good luck.

drain the gas tank. pull the fuel pump and look for rust inside. change the fuel filter. check the intake manifold for air leaks. i would pull out the carpet and pressure wash it.

Thanks for the tips, I imagine my boys (6 and 8) and I are in for quite a bit of work. I was going to exchange the fuel and change the filter, but I hadn’t thought to look in the tank for rust.
