I typically don't mention my car unless someone asks. If it's someone I don't really know and they interrupt me mid-sentence with "what do you drive"....I give em the 300 Horse line.

If a girl or something asks or a teacher or something....I say I have an old BMW.

When someone asks, I say "an M3" and usually they'll just say "oh, ok" meaning they have no clue what an M3 is and I leave it at that. If they do know what it is, then they usually say "ah, those are sweet cars!!!"

Most people act surprised when I tell them I own two BMW's. They usually tell me that they figured me for a big pickup truck or a camaro.

I can't say I totally blame them.

I tell them I drive a Modena or a Trailblazer. If I'm within sight of my e30, I'll say that little red convertible over there.
