'88 vert sway bar vs '90 325is front sway bar

    hey guys

so i've done some reading and people are saying convertible sway bars are thicker than coupe/sedan sway bars. Yet I noticed when i measured the sway bars was 19.5 vert to 'is @ 21.3mm

anymore info on this it would be great.

    Thanks

I noticed that too, and it all depends on where you measure on the sway bar, there are different diameters at different points on the sway bar, however if you measure at the exact point where the bushing attach to the sway bar, you should find the corresponding specs, example 318is=20mm and "325ic"= 21mm. If you check out realoem.com you'll see the listed sway bar diameters too, here's link.

My only other guess is that you are not using measuring tools correctly, or your sway bars aren't original to the cars you stated.
