I am by no means defending Carfax, but there are also instances where Autocheck does not have an accident and carfax does. In all honestly, you should really look at both if you REALLY want to be sure.

yeah on occasion carfax does have a few bits of info more than autocheck, its just not as likely. Accuracy isn't quite there unfortunately with carfax atleast in my experience.

Ive pulled a few reports (well atleat a few hundred since we used to use carfax instead of AC) and have had reported maint and recon on a vehicle that was simply never done... and a few times ive pulled up a vin and it shows an accident that never happened with CFax.

kind of like credit bureaus, sometimes they have stuff wrong

funny recent find on a VIN - stolen vehicle, had been sold twice, and was about to be bought for 6k by someone Im keeping unnamed. Hellrot s50 swapped slammed e30 on craigslist. Always get VINs checked before buying anything on there, never know 100% if who you are dealing with is trying to rip you off
