Around May 2015. I noticed an e30 under a tarp.
She's probably spent 2-3 years under that tarp.
So I decided to adopt this E30 and give her a proper home.
1991 318is
Sterling Silver (244)
381,xxx kms
5 speed
M-Tech 1 steering wheel
A/C
ABS
4.10 Open
The plan in order.
1) Swap the interior (Vader / houndstooth)
2) Up the power (M50 swap)
3) Hook up cluster (A:F, Volt, Oil pres, Oil temp)
4) Drop the height (GE Coilovers / Bilstein shocks)
5) New wheels (17' OZ Racing / 20mm spacers)
I'd like to 5 lug swap, but already invested in a decent 4 lug set up, lets trade? haha
The day I picked her up
swapped the M-tech I to a M-tech II.
Picked up some Smiley's
and 17 OZ's
My rebuilt cluster
Moved her into the garage,
She's dirty and looks angry. Instagram JMK_325
Face down, Arse up
Fronts up, wheels off.
Front end off, intake off, AC disconnected, Wiring harness disconnected.
Down she goes!
The new motor is a M50tu with 180,xxx kms. 100% ready to install, except one thing...
I decided to swap cranks, so its now a bottom end rebuild.. I was so close haha.
With the new crank, and delayed completion date I decided to keep adding..
I'll now be using an m52 head I had machined for another project.
- Schrick 264/246 cams
- Racing Dynamic's shorty headers
I will also be swapping an e36 steering rack in and deleting ABS/AC.
