Needs moe pics for sure. E39 style 5 is a nice wheel, but not for winter status.

Like others have said, you went from a cheap date to a high class hooker! Beware, the s38 loves what you have in you back pocket...

17's kill the E28's feeling. it becomes dead and lethargic. Find a set of E38 style 5's for cheap and use those. Are you interested in selling your OE wheels?

Speaking of e38 style 5's. I have a set with brand new tires I'm trying to sell. PM me if you're interested.

Ok so I finally got some time to work on the car. I got married this summer and I work 30hrs a week and a full time student at sac state so this build thread/restoration is going to be slow. But, I'm hoping that starting a thread will keep me motivated and working on the car. So feel free to remind me often.

                  Here it goes.

The front shocks were blown and the right side was making a death noise(scary) but I would jus roll down the windows and listen to the motor ;D after doing some research and considering what i wanted to do I finally ordered some Bilstein sport shocks from Bav Auto.

I went to Auto Heaven (Sacramento based vintage Bmw shop) and they let me use their bay and lift. I got the drivers side strut assembly out. The M5 strut is at least 3times heavier than my e30 one. I pulled the strut apart and this is what I found.

I spent 20min trying to dislodge the rest of the bump stop from the assembly. Click image for larger version

The old shocks were leaking all over the place and completely blown.

I got these bad boys in with no effort..except the stupid dust sleeve which is a great design overall.
