WTB: E30 M3 Evo Lightweight Flywheel

Looking for an E30 M3 EVO flywheel (Part#11221312519). I thought I had one lined up, but it appears it fell through. So now I need one asap. Need to have it in my possession by the end of next week or I will just run the oem flywheel.
    Thanks.

Prices have gone up. Might want to look into having your stock flywheel lightened or going aftermarket.

I know. Its crazy. It's a lot of work to get the stock flywheel down to the EVO weight. I'm prepared to pay market value for the Evo flywheel. Just seems like most places wont have one for a couple months and my engine is hopefully going back in next week. If I don't upgrade now, I probably never will.

It is a lot of work but it can be done or a least come close. Depending on what your machinist charges per hour, it could run you just $100-200. If you are pressed for time, it's your best bet. Waiting on the Evo or aftermarket flywheel to ship out to you could take some time.

Install a JB Racing and machine down yours or ask John at S14power if he has on in stock or maybe ask Vintage Sports and Racing at http://www.vsr1.com/ if they have one.

Problem is I don't know of any reputable machine shops in the area. I emailed vsr1. Maybe they will have one for me.

That is not true. I have done 2 of them, its gets there easy.

It was more than a few years ago but Metric Mechanic got one of my stock flywheels down just under an Evo unit. Back then it was just around $100. I have heard that price has gone up quite a bit.

Jason Miller at Millers Mule Machine did the same thing on one we machined to accept a 215mm AP Clutch.

Jason did a beautiful job, but he was hard to communicate with. He disappeared from communication for blocks of time.
I believe he was going through a personal crisis at the time (so it may have just been circumstances of the moment).
He did beautiful work on that flywheel.

I have a stock one that I might have taken down but I hesitate as I still have my JB so there is no need to do this except for wanting a steel flywheel.

So John is located in Germany?

I suppose I could just take my flywheel to a local shop and ask them to resurface and simply lighten it. Guess it wont be down to Evo weight but it will be lighter and I will have it ready to go for engine installation time.

Most local machine shops do not have the facility to balance a flywheel (at least the ones I called) thats why I used Metric Mechanic and Jason Miller.

I'd only go with someone proven on the lightening and balancing of rotating items like cranks, flywheels, pistons, rods, etc.
Too many very bad things can happen.

Depends some do I have a speed shop near that me that balances cranks and flywheels. They do a lot of business as my area has 4 tracks within 50 miles.
