Can you add hyper silver as a color backup for me?

I'd be interested in an extra wheel as well depending on price

Come to think of it, me too. I would ass-ume around $211, but maybe they'll give us a break! :D That would be an extra set between us!

I'd buy a spare too. It would have to be hyper black though.

                    Stumbled on this from bimmerforums....

                    Hey guys,

I'm xxxxx from APEX. Yyyyyyyy, your car looks great, and I'm glad to see your very pleased with the fit and finish of the wheels. I wouldn't expect anything less from our direct fitment wheels.

These 17x8" wheels were designed as a track wheel. They're lighter then every other 17x8" e30 wheel, and lighter then many smaller diameter wheels as well. With the barrels being roll forged, the rotational mass is significantly lower then a similar weight wheel produced using the cast method. This is the same concept that makes carbon fiber barrel wheels so effective at increasing performance. This allows for an 18lbs carbon wheel to spin, as if it were only a 13-14lbs metal wheel. Flow-forming our wheel reduces barrel weight by 3-4lbs, which is even more pronounce while driving (energy to get it to start or stop spinning).

With the ARC-8 being a track wheel, we were going for the most rubber we could squeeze onto a car. 235/40/17 allows for a wide tire available in many r-compound sizes, and it's what the SPEED touring series runs on their cars (bimmerworld for example). smaller diameter wheels have significantly more sidewall flex. Smaller wheels being lighter is only true if you actually compare their weights, size alone is an assumption. Even if a smaller wheel/tire combo is a little lighter, the wider 8" wheel setup with low profile tire makes a significant improvement in grip. I've driven in e30 m3's running on 15" K1's with r-compounds, and then back to my car with the 235/40/17 setup, and it's a night and day difference as to how the car handles corners. You have to look at the over all change a modification is making to a car. You can't look at just weight, or just tire size, or price. 15's or 16's are generally purchased to save some money, and saving money generally leads to a performance sacrifice somewhere. GrassRoots Motorsport magazine had a nice write up over a year ago, discussing this very issue, on how increasing wheel diameter within the same wheel design, improved cornering response and decreased times.

Awesome Frank, that's one of the reasons I have wanted these wheels so long. They are light, strong, and perfect for daily use or track/autocross!

I wanted to provide you guys with an update. Currently we are looking to make these wheels in an upcoming production run that would be due to arrive in May. There is a slight chance they get here in April, but I'd prefer to be more conservative with our estimates.

Available finishes would be Hyper Black, Anthracite and Satin Black. No Hyper Silver.

A 5th wheel could be purchased at the same Group Buy discount price ratio (1/4 of the discount offered for a full set), and it would also ship for free.

We'd need to get to our goal in the next few weeks for this to happen otherwise we'd miss this production run. We can now begin promoting the Group Buy on other forums and on our FB page to get additional sign-ups since the timing lines up well with an upcoming production cycle.

I PM'd everyone, including those that backed out to see if we can get a couple back.

I will update the list with the confirmations.
