Front Sway Bar Link Replacement - Meyle HD

    Hey fellow 325iX’ers,

I was working on replacing my front sway bar links this past weekend with a pair of Meyle HD links (PN 31351701066) from FCP and quickly found out that they are a very close match to the originals but not the exact same. I had to do some jimmy rigging to get them installed.

The two things I ran into were that the actual joints were about a 1/4” larger in diameter and the joint bolts were longer by a 1/4 of an inch. This made getting the joints installed into the strut brackets pretty difficult.

Ended up needing to cut off the excess bolts on the links, leaving me JUST enough bolt to secure the joint in. I’ll keep those in there unless I find another part that works better.

Just wanted to share some awareness in case anyone is planning on tackling this in the near future. Has anyone else run into this or used a different part that fit seamlessly?

We all have experienced this. Cutting the threads down is the only solution.
