    My 1988 325i

    Hey r3v!

New to the board from Australia. Picked up my 1988 325i back in April.

Picked up a pretty clean example - has had an LSD fitted, exhaust and a couple of Recaro RS3's but otherwise is in great condition. All panels apart from roof recently repainted and has an Mtech2 front bumper.

Top end was rebuilt shortly before I picked it up and currently sitting in shed and working on it over the weekends to replace anything that needs it.

Will primarily be my weekend and occasional track car.

Got some orders on the way and next job in immediate future is to get new strut mounts fitted and sort out the spongy brakes which I hear is common on these.

Also love some original tail lights.

    Pics of course

    Out with the old

    In with the new

Prior to ripping the tint out so I could actually see!

        My 1988 325i

Finally got the car up on stands to have a look at. Couple of brake sensors need replacing but otherwise in great condition.

Running King Low springs with Biltstein shocks.

Popped under the car and the power steering pump looked like this. Cleaned it all up and will check tomorrow.

I grabbed a couple of cans of wax and grease remover. Probably took 8 goes of spraying it on and scrapping a layer off with a plastic scraper.

Ordered a new one from pelican, not sure if it comes with glue

The white one is actually my best mates, has his build under projects.

I'm jealous of your 6yo!! Would be a great project to work on together and get him into an e30 nice and young haha

Couple of small things today. Headlight switch bulb was blown and the hvac lights were a little dim on one side so got these all out.

Put the dash back together today with new bulbs. Not the most exciting task!

Also noticed that some sealant is missing between the front fender and engine bay which is letting water when rain/washed. Maybe from when a panel was re sprayed.

Bonnet rubber also doesn't go the whole length and will get replaced when I find some new ones.

Engine is back together and runs great. Will just need the new hood liner installed and some fresh fuel.

I'm also after this tiny piece from the throttle cable which I noticed was missing. Any ideas of what you would call it? I'm gonna chase up at a wreckers for it otherwise just buy a new cable which are only $20...shipping is a killer though.
