318is - Rear fogs wont switch off

Hi There - we had a storm today, I put the regular lights on and noticed the amber fog light on the dash lit up. I hadn't pressed the button, it just was on. Fiddled with the switch and it stayed on (as did the rear fogs). Unplugged the switch and they continued to stay on.

Is this a common issue and is there a fix? Even pulling the rear bulbs left the dash light on.

I'm not sure what a rear fog is. Perhaps someone else on the forum may know. Good luck.

You most likely have a short in one of your taillight bulb carriers. See which one makes the other one go out when removed, and check it for loose traces.

Rear Fogs were an option on Euro cars ... there is a write up on M42 club specific to retrofitting a US 318is with this option.
