How to dissassemble your Getrag 260

So, I recently bought a 1989 325i that was stuck in reverse. I got the car for $500 bucks (sight unseen) hoping it would just be broken shifter linkage (or something minor). Well, I troubleshot all the way down to getting the transmission out and discovered the problem had to be in the transmission. So, after reading on these forums about "special tools" needed to disassemble a Getrag 260, I decided to share how I MADE my own special tool to separate the two halves from the transmission.

I went to the hardware store and bought the below items:
    1) Pipe Flange
    2) 6 inch long 2 inch diameter pipe
    3) 2 inch to 1 inch reducer
    4) 6 30mm #6x1mm flange bolts
(all together these parts cost ~$22)

I then drilled holes in the flange to match the transmission housing.
I then bolted the flange to the transmission housing with bolts mentioned above.
Next I mated the piping with the flange, and then put on the reducer.
I then used a pulley puller (everyone should have one of these...they are worth buying) and pulled on the outsides of the reducer adapter. You can see it here on youtube:
