Input pins of the rev meter - how to wire?

    Hi Guys,

I'm new here, so greetings to everybody. When I look out of my window, I have a straight look at the place where my car was born 31 1/2 years ago, so you might guess where I am coming from.

I have a specific question, hope somebody can help:

How shall I wire the rev meter for testing? The Pin identification says following:

    2-
    2+
    1-
    1+

I know I need 12V, ground and a PWM-signal with 10-12V amplitude and 50% Duty cycle (got all three), but I just don't know how to wire.

Try and error might be dangerous for the hardware, so hope anybody knows

    Thank you!

There is nothing wrong with your tach, most likely. Of the hundreds of clusters I have rebuilt, I've never seen the tach itself fail. 99% of the time the non working tach is a failed SI board.

The tachometer is not designed to be driven with 12v, ground, and PWM directly, it is a 4 wire bipolar motor. You will need a tachometer driver circuit, that is exactly what the SI board does.
