E to I exhaust swap CA smog legal?

I'm the best person to ask, we put a 2.5L in my 325e from a 325iS parts car. Never had any issues in my 4 years of ownership with the 2.5L with smog.

More then likely won't experience any problems. However if you do eventually install an aftermarket CARB approved cat (like a magnaflow or a walker) and the smog tech runs the number (which they all should be doing) he could technically fail you because the converter isn't the right one for the car. We're talking a super strict smog tech though, so not very likely.

just run the E aftermarket cat.. it should pass.. mine did
