Block annoying sub forums?

I don’t come to R3v for, say, politics and religion discussion. It’s just irritating and having search/new posts serve it up to me is annoying.

Can we have a way to block non-topical subforums like that?

The new version of vBulletin (forum software) will be rolling out at some point in the not too distant future. I don't know if it contains that functionality, though I am fairly certain James won't be making any more changes or updates to this version.

I was on a forum many many years ago that had that feature enabled, I don't see why it couldn't just be enabled right now. I could do without P&R and the classifieds coming up in new posts.
