    Are the mirror motors rebuildable?

Hi all, looking to repair the mirror motor on my e30 m3. passenger side has gone out, and im hoping these can be dissembled and replaced for cheap like the e46 m3.

is there already a diy for this? thanks!

I don't believe they are. However, when I first got my E30 both needed to be cleaned and lubed a bit. There is a DIY somewhere for removing the glass. I would start there, clean everything and re-assess.

Removing the glass is simple, there is a rotating lock mechanism behind the glass and an access hole at the bottom of the mirror. You simply insert a small tool and rotate the catch. That should give you access to all of the guts you could want to service.

Or you could just get another functional E30 mirror and swap components or whole mirrors.

I would think that if the part is available, then it came be replaced.
