Premium slider radio went DEAD. was working perfectly!

got the CM5908 slider radio (with the IR controls), with radio code card. This is the 6th one I've bought. Installed and was working perfectly!

I had to pull the radio to clean up some wiring. Power was on and radio was playing. While I held the radio the anti theft light started flashing and I heard a couple of beeps. Then it shut off, completely dead. Checked fuses 12 and 21 and they were good. Both power connectors to the radio have juice.

Anybody have a suggestion? All I've read online about the anti-theft says that it powers up and displays CODE. Worst case you have to wait an hour with the radio powered up to re-enter the code. Haven't seen anything about the radio powering down!

Is there a fuse inside the radio or something? Anyone have a suggestion?

IIRC there's a (glass) fuse on the back, just above where the permanent wires go in.

SCORE! damn glass fuse in the back of the unit. Haven't seen something like that in years.

so I still have 5 other CM5908s... started taking a dead one apart. Hope I can get 1-2 working backup units.
