    wheel offset

Would a 16x7.5 wheel with a offset of 43 work on an E30?

    Not without spacers... maybe 15-20mm.

I dont think so, I was running 17x7 with 40mm offset, and it was pretty close.

You can get set of 10-15mm hubcentering spacers with longer bolts and run them with no problems, and still be very close to factory wheel offset.

I doubt it. I'm going to buy a pair of front wheels in 16x7 with 38mm offset and Talekd to someone who ran the same size and had them barly fit. I'm going to run 15mm spacers So i'd think you'd need 20mm spacers. Right now on my car I have 16 x 7.5 on the front in ET 20 offset with no spacers and they rub on full lock, but they look awsome and fit the car so well.
