The car is a 1987 325is. I believe it has motronic gauges. There is almost like an electric arc sound coming from the gauge area. When that happens the tach, fuel and temp gauge lose power. Those 3 gauges and SI lights did not even come on for about a month. Now they are back on but working erraticly and intermittently. The speedo is perfect. Sometimes the seatbelt warning light in the overhead pops on and the "check" light pops on in the center of the dash and you hear that arc sound. I had the gauges out last year when it would happen very infrequently. I could not find anything. Now it happens all day everyday. Where do I look? Is it likely a common ground issue? Please point me in the right direction. Thanks.
