Misc. s38b36 technical questions

Quick question for you guys. When i put my idler sprocket in (part 13) I put it back with the long end facing toward the front of the engine and the flat end toward the back. Looking back on an old picture i have it the other way and Im just trying to confirm that I don't have it reversed before starting this thing.
Also where does hose 13 go after it comes off the plenum?

Are the getrag 280 and 260-6 transmissions the same length? Would like to be able to use the same driveshaft when swapping them over.

Flat end of the sprocket goes towards the front of the cylinder head. Long end towards the rear.

Hose #13 goes to the dipstick. It's the oil return line for the oil separator (#4) on the bottom on the intake manifold, so oil goes into the oil pan instead of getting burned in the engine.
