Floor mounted pedal boxes - Tilton 600 vs Wilwood 340-12410/411

    Hi,

Has anyone looked or played with these pedal boxes in the e30?

Tilton's 600-Series 3-pedal floor mount assembly provide excellent performance at competitive prices.

Looks like Tilton is pretty clever and give you two options, mounting the masters behind the pedals or infront of the pedals. This obviously gives you options with how far back/front you can mount the pedal box on the floor vs moving the seat/steering wheel relative to the pedals.

I don't think Wilwood makes an option for mounting the masters infront of the pedals, unless they have one but not listed on Summit Racing site ?

The reason why I am starting to look at these options is in case I am not happy with the current 2 pedal wilwood setup that hangs under the steering column and is mounted to the firewall and steering column area using Garagistic mount. I am not a big guy, but I noticed flex at the firewall area when I was bleeding the brakes :/ Saving a few hundred dollars here is not worth it to me , as I am not sure how reliable this will be long term. Also, serviceability is out the window with the current setup as you have to remove the whole thing to make any adjustments at all. No provision for the balance bar remote adjuster, and no room to adjust MC push rods either w/o first removing the whole thing which is a huge pain in the rear.

So, any comments on the floor mounted boxes? I was hoping that the wilwood would have an option with masters mounted in front off the pedals like tilton as I could then re-use the masters I've already purchased and also have the pedals further in the tunnel vs closer to me.

Comments, suggestions, other options out there>?

How about the setup massive provides, where you retain stock pedals and just get 2 MC's in the enginge bay

That won't work, no room for masters there. The other option is to use the e32/34 style push rod setup with master and booster behind headlight .

Pootis - current pedal box is wilwood 2 pedal assembly with dual compact masters and garagistic mount . It mounts to the firewall and lower section of steering column where stock pedal box was.

If you check my build thread under projects section on this forum I've posted clear photos .

Obviously it's nothing like the floor mounted setup, and is reason for this thread .

M60's are so wide too bad you can't run a hydroboost like I am
