    CD changer into usb input

Purchased a Continental radio to replace the aging CM5908 but not liking the yellowish lighting. Seeing this CD changer to USB interface being sold on ebay for Volvo hu-xxx radios. Has the 8 pin interface and search results show Volvo also used the same Alpine cd changers. Hoping that Volvo also used alpine radios instead of pioneer. Ordered the unit and will report back once it arrives.

Pelican has a write up to determine radio/cd changer compatibility
"With the radio turned on, press down the "PROG" button along with the "MODE" or "Tuner" (-) button. The radio will then print out on its display the manufacturer name, and what version of the radio it is."

Interesting. Looking forward to see how this works out. The Continental units seem to be the closest-to-OEM-looking units out there with modern'ish features (the Clarion RMT-200 is still IMO the best one after swapping faceplate LEDs, but it is NLA).

Was to lazy to pull the CM5908 before buying the thing to confirm. CM5908 is a 13 DIN so it's a no go. There seems to be similar units that are said to be compatible for e36 radios with square plugs. Going to give that a shot.
