Just bought a M54B30 with 6 speed ZF trans. Didn't realize until I got home that is MS45.1 DME and harness. I'm not finding much information regarding this DME, looks like everyone is using the MS43 version. Anyone have a recommendation on this. Not sure if I need to convert to MS43 and if so, what's necessary? I'm reading that MAF is different and ignition coils connector are different. Can they work or am I going to have to swap coils too?

The MS43 is better known for tuning, EWS delete, etc.
If you can find someone to tune MS45, then it's not a problem.
It IS a more advanced system, with wideband oxygen sensors...
If you want to use MS45 coils with an MS43 ecu, you'll want the spark
wiring harness out of a 325xi- they stayed MS43, but went to the later
coils after 2002. It works pretty well.

Thanks for the response. Can you be more specific with the ignition coil harness? I just bought a MS43 harness today so I now have a MS45 and 43 harness. Is there going to be a problem with the ignition coil connector?Comment
