    How to prep bumpers

I have tucked my bumpers on my e30 and waned to paint them and the plastic trim with bed liner. What do I need to do to properly prep them?

    Metal bumpers?

Since you said tuck I'll assume that.

I just painted my E30 and I cleaned with good prep solvent (aka bug and tar remover), then scuffed the metal with 220 grit paper, then cleaned again, then shot it with high build polyester primer, sanded that with 320, then cleaned again, and then and shot the single stage acrylic enamel paint on there.

Same as any other metal. I didn't paint the plastic bits, I left them alone. I wouldn't try painting the plastic bits unless you cleaned them really well and then sanded them with 220 or so to get rid of the weathered and deteriorated outer surface. I wouldn't bother with primer on them.

Even then it's probably going to crack and flake off after not very long.
