    WTB: 4-Door, 5 spd, 4k Budget, Mid-East Coast

Looking for a Project / Daily!

    Must be:
    1988+
    4 door
    5-speed
    No AWD
    As little rust as possible.

    WOULD PREFER A FORUM CAR!

Don't care what engine or color it is.

Not too picky after that because from what I've seen most need interior reconditioning, new paint, etc.

    Budget is up to $4,000

Preferably on the cheaper side, but would consider paying a bit more for something really worth it. For example: above average body/paint/interior or lots of provable maintenance, a really solid daily.

3-4 hours drive from NoVA is preferable, unless it really meets all of the specifications. I've done a few too many drives to POS cars in other states so the closer the better.

Help me get into my first e30!

    Thanks!

I would keep searching for a 1991 318i sedan if you want a four door plastic bumper E30. All plastic bumper E30318i/is M42 motor came with a 5 speed. The 318i sedan meets your search criteria and budget plus they are fun to drive with the M42 motor. My 318i gives me a smile every time I drive it. Just my .02 cents worth.

              Not mine, no affiliation, etc...

                Thanks for the responses!

A lot more responses than I anticipated!

G-man: I didn't realize that, maybe I should change it to 318i's only! I really like them for the more modern engine. Thanks for the input!

91e30325i: Sorry I would like to avoid trans swaps right from the start, I need something that is driveable right away.

e30=sexy: Really looking for a 4-Door. I'm weirdly into sedans, hold the laughter.

mattrabbit: Rust is an issue for me. Its hard to get rid of and I know on the northern cars if it has some, theres probably more. Good luck!

If you were interested in a metal bumper car, I'd certainly have a match for you. My daily, pretty clean e model sedan. 5 speed, black interior, little to zero rust(and I mean even under carriage/suspension/etc, super clean), a couple of bodywork issues but very very minor. It's Delphin grey. Lots of new parts and was going to stay in my stable for many years however I'm looking at a new house. 160xxx miles. $2500 is what I'll be asking for it. Tuck the bumpers or swap them, boom late model look. Let me know if you might be interested. Thanks.

Thats a bit far for me ikonwon, thanks and glws.
Notsafe335: if it wasn't a 1987 eta, I would have been all over it. The bumpers and the engine isn't really what I want. I've heard bumper tucks on anything pre '88 really just don't come out looking very good. Thank you though and good luck!

So I misspoke about tucking bumpers, that's not too bad it's when you try to convert and you have to do all that welding and such, is when it can turn out poorly.

Thanks stone <--- the SOB that got me into these things!

G-man: I've been talking with the owner a lot about the car, I planned to go see it Saturday and then something came up.
