I’ve had this in my car for a few years now and love the way it looks. I did have an issue about 6 months ago. I’m sure I have an old version so may have been fixed by now, but George, something to check on, and others to be carful of: I had a USB apple lightning cable plugged into the USB port. One day it dangled and touched my metal cup holder that I have by the floor (the ultimate cup holder). The cup holder must have touched the right pins to form a circuit and the cable caught fire at the tip. Luckily I was in the car and simply unplugged it and tossed it out the window so no harm done, but could have been worse. My guess is that typically chargers will shut off in this situation automatically because I’ve never had anything like this happen with another charger.
