    Possible drive shaft issue

Driving on my way to work and start to notice a bone jarring vibration shaking the entire car when I got above 60mph. I have 90 325is manual.

The vibration stops when I completely lift off the throttle.

Am I having a drive shaft failure? I think I've isolated the source of the vibration to the rear end of the car. This makes me suspect the diff as well.

I've had this E30 for almost a year and this issue just started today. There were no warning signs.

Is it safe to drive back home which is 50 miles away? I plan to take the back road in order to keep it under 60. The vibration is so bad I need a spinal adjustment!

Hope someone can shed some light.

Is it only happening when you accelerate? Or is it speed or RPM dependent?

First go underneath and see if your guibo is shredded. if you have a flashlight and a mirror, you may be able to see the CSB behind the heat shield too.

Only under acceleration. As soon as I lift off the throttle it goes away. I'll go see what I can see here in a minute.

PS. Thanks to whoever moved this thread to the appropriate forum.

Either Guibo or the center support bearing is shot.

Pretty sure that is the case even though I swear the PO replaced both. I mean why would you go to all the trouble of doing a Auto to Manual swap and not do that?

Thanks for the feedback so far.

I plan to get her looked at the beginning of October.
