    "is lip" paint recommendations

Just picked up an "is lip" and I was just curious on what kind of paint you guys used for those that went black?

I'm assuming something flexible and a little bit heavier.

Did most of you put on 2-3 coats after a light sanding of the primer?

    Thanks

I sprayed mine with Truck Bed Liner (for texture) and then Satin Black Trim Spray.

SEM Trim Black. 2-3 coats. Proven solution.

I used some Krylon Satin black or something.

        Came out pretty super.

Black Plasti-Dip. Comes out perfect trim black color, and does not chip. It's rubber and rocks will bounce right off. If/when it does get fucked up, you peel it off and repaint it.

I use Dupli-Color "Bumper Coating" for almost all my trim. The application and durability are unreal while SEM trim paint or even Dupli-Color trim paint are a bit easy to scuff/scratch and quick to fade.

Black Plasti-Dip is the shit but I've had issues with the nozzle action myself. It's about 2 in 3 are faulty or don't spray well in the slightest.

How about Dupli-Color "Bumper Coating" for the valence and rocker panels? Valence looks like they had a scouring pad taken to them.

How are the is lip spoilers painted out of the factory? I hear that they are semi gloss or OEM paint like the rest of the car.

Alright. Use plasti-dip the way Janderson recommended.
Mine is chipping from rocks about 3 months in..

I think you could do like 2-3 coats of dupli-color trim paint. haha

I'm preparing to spray SEM on my rockers and valence. I wounder if it comes down to prep?
Not worried about the rockers but the PO seems to have taken something abrasive to the valence.
Paint shop said no need to primer but do I need to sand or just clean etc.

As an update I did use plasti-dip and it worked great. No rock chips or anything so far

when using the plasti-dip, does the lip have to be prepped by sanding or anything?
