    Subfram help

Alright, I'm dropping the subframe to replace the subframe bushings and trailing arm bushigns. There is a tube which I have no clue what system its a part of, let alone how to get it off of the hub. Its not threaded, it spins freely, and I can pull it out a decent ways, but not all the way out. Here's a pic:

I'm also looking for ideas on turning my drive shaft so I can get to the other two bolts that connect to the diff.

When I take the diff out, I'm assuming that the half shafts just pop out... Do I need to take out any of the hex bolts or allen bolts?

Thanks for all of your help,
    Addis

we found the easiest way to rotate the driveshaft was to have someone in the car w/the trans in neutral. Spin the rear wheels (if you have an unlimited slip ;) you may need help with this) until you get to the bolt you need, and then get your friend in the car to lock the ebrake again. There ya go.

I have an LSD, and yes... Its a bit tough to spin the wheel. Does it matter which way I spin it?

It's the e-brake cable, and you have to remove the hex bolts that attach the half shafts from the diff, as well as the driveshaft from the diff obviously...

If you're needing to remove the e-brake cable, here's an article that I wrote that will help you unhook it.

Thanks for the help guys! The subfame is ready to drop now... Any tips on actually getting it off the bolts that go through the bushings? Its on there pretty well. I sprayed some wd40 and am letting it sit for a while... Any special leverage points or anything?

                Thanks

I just stuck a pry bar between the car and the subframe and it came out with little to no effort. It pretty much just fell out. On most cars its not as easy. Try using PB Blaster and a torch to help loosen it from the car.

I'd suggest a penetrant like this as well. WD-40 is NOT a penetrant.

I used a rubber hammer to break it free.. wasn't too hard, but my car's undercarriage isn't covered in rust like a lot of them are.
