I cut mine off with a die grinder. Obviously ruined the factory "lollipops", but I replaced them with the treehouse cabs.

Yeah, we were thinking of torching it off. The problem isn't the big rubber bushing, it's the little metal ring thats on the controll arm, I thought it was rubber, but it isn't.

You can also slide them on/off with your pinky finger, so it wont matter if you happen to mess up the first time.
I actually had a hell of a time getting one of mine to slide on...
Ditto. One side was a bitch and the next side slid on with ease.

Damn, are you guys mushrooming the end of your control arm when you get the old bushing off?

Jordan said he cut through that with a dremel.

are you putting in OEM or polyurethane bushings? if so, they have to be pressed in anyway, so there's no need to cut out that ring. the old bushing will be pressed out when you have the new ones pressed in.

                    .

Q & D. Get one of these c-clamps from your hardware store. Cheap & easy.
                    EDIT: for removal only

                      THR solid CAB's.

Well I'm out of cutoff wheels, and my car is up in the air on jackstands, so I guess I'll have to grab some later and cut em off.

I dunno, if you're not replacing the control arms cutting them off seems like too much work. with a torch, all you really need to do is get them hot, you don't have to burn out the bushing or anything. then they just slide right off..
