delete rear battery box with mtech rear bumper

I have an 91 325ix that has battery box rot. I have been searching for a replacement trunk 1/4 panel with out any luck. I was thinking of cutting the rot out and fashioning my own sheet metal replacement and covering my handy work with an mtech rear bumper cover. Anyone else resorted to something like this? I would like to believe it's a semi temporary fix to stop the spread of rust until I track down a good battery box.

I will be parting out a rust free 325I 4 door. I can cut out the rear section you need if your interested.

I'm jumping into this thread a little late. Still cutting up that car? I need a patch panel for the other side where the jack sits.

Yes, Have not cut any panels yet. Still using trunk for parts/tool storage as I tear it down.
