    Is the feel about equal to a recently-overhauled E36 M3?

    While the ratio sucks on the M3, the feel is absolutely sublime. My brother has an E46 M3 ZCP and still prefers the steering on my '98.

    I know feel is a combination of rack set-up, rack speed, the condition of strut bearings, caster, scrub radius, tire width, sidewall height, sidewall composition, etc- but one still needs to eliminate variables by learning what is the best in each category.

      I am not sure if it's apples to apples comparison, if you are talking about the feel of Rack A in a original car VS. the same rack in E30 car. Since the suspension and dynamics of two cars are different....

      As far as e46 330 rack goes, I still love it. Drove my friends e46 after he refreshed all of it's suspension (front and back, all new bushings, arms etc) and both cars have the same rack (e46 and my e30) and the e46 felt heavy and lazy... not really a good comparison to compare the same rack in two different cars imho

        Hmmmm. I thought my '95 e36 m3 rack was nice on my e30. It's no wonder why I like my 330ci more then my e30 at times. I'm not sure how I lived with the e30 325is stock wheel and stock rack it came with. It feels like a 1970 ford truck at this point.

              E46 ZHP E30 Conversion parts

              If you have never driven a ZHP you probably wont know what you are missing, especially if your rack is really bad now, anything will feel better.

              Any chance you have the part numbers for the parts you used to complete the conversion? I’ve been searching through a bunch of threads and there’s a lot of contradicting information out there. I just started saving for an E30 and have been doing a ton of research on steering racks, and I just found out about the E46 ZHP rack. Thanks in advance!
