    Bavarian Autosport BAV.M60.100 / 1999 chip?

Has anyone used this chip or knows any technical information about it? I got a spare 404 DME that came with it installed, and googling it doesn't bring me any good results.

Would like to know what the chip technical data was all about, what are the advertised gains and gas requirements etc..

    Thanks!

    I've got a BAV.M60.100/1997

At the end of the hex code in the ascII string there is a copyright for Autothority Performance Products, a company mostly know for Porshe tuning.

The map addresses and index of maps have been shifted around from a standard 404 tune, so an XDF for a stock 404.bin in TunerPro won't work for the BAV tune.
The idle & part throttle ignition timings are stock, the WOT ignition timing tables have been modified above 3000rpm

Here is a stock 404 M60B40 auto trans ignition timing maps to compare:

Based on firmware code & map hexaddress locations I have a theory on who the tuner is behind the BAV/Autothority chip. But as I do not know 100% fact I won't disclose whom. If it's who I think it is, he is also a well know & popular BMW tuner.

Any thing else you'd like to know about the BAV chip?

Redline is set to 6,820rpm... roughly 400rpm higher then stock.

I believe it to be an auto tune based on part throttle ignition timing table. The 540i/6 404 tune has different part throttle ignition from factory. Otherwise I haven't seen many differences between auto & manual tunes...

Here are stock 404 540i/6 ignition maps to compare to above:

Interesting. Funny since the stock tunes manual vs auto aren’t the same as you know :)

I was talking to someone on another forum and somehow he was able to tell right away if the tune was out of automatic car or manual , waiting for him to share how he is able to tell after just looking at the code . He’s also mentioned a stock euro tune is out there with more aggressive numbers but I don’t know what the Bosch part number is for it

I too would be interested in how he can tell. I can confirm the "Euro" spec tunes are a better choice then a U.S. spec chip. I can also tell you that the U.S 530i chips use the 'Euro' version of the firmware and has more performance oriented part throttle ignition map compared to U.S. 540i.

Early 90's 530i ignition map to compare to the others:
