A few more from today, just playing around, the ceramic coated header is a fairly close match to the head finish.
Backlit intake port with valves at 10mm lift.
Head was previously machined flat but obviously lost its surface finish though the process of cleaning it. I wet lapped the head sealing surface with 800/1000/1500 paper glued to a sheet of 3/8 thick glass (totally flat)

Looks like whatever they used, stayed nice a tacky for 30 years.
Not a whole lot going on tonight. After work I ran all the loose body colored parts to the new bodyshop and dropped them off. I'm bailing on the existing shop as they just keep pushing my car off week and week, has turned into months after months.
I installed the new valve stem seals...
and I found, purchased a M47 Diesel crankshaft for the bottom end.
