    1989 BMW 325iX Alpine Sedan 5sp 139K Miles SOLD

    SOLD

A little backstory/reason for sale: I picked this car up from Kentucky a little while back in hopes to use a ton of really nice iX parts I was saving up to make a good daily driver. I decided a bit into the project that I couldn't give up my Subaru, so I wanted to pass this car along to another enthusiast that will appreciate what I've put into the car. Below I will list things that I've done to the car since it's been in my ownership. If you have any questions, please let me know, I will try to be as thorough as possible.

The car is located in Indiana, zip 46013. I am not interested in shipping the car at this time.

    Price: $7999

        Very thorough seller! Nice ad.

Any estimates on repairing the battery box rust section? The rest of the rust looks manageable via some light restoration. Price is right...wish it were closer but still tempting...

Open to PPI at buyer’s expense?

I am originally from the east coast, and do not know of any body shops out here I'd trust to cut and weld a panel in unfortunately so I didn't have a quote done.

I would gladly work with you on a PPI! There are two very competent Bimmer shops fairly locally who would be perfect for just that, as they both know E30s very well. Neither do body work unfortunately (pertaining to question #1), although perhaps they'd know of someone familiar with battery box repair.

First things first, Bump. Secondly, What shop rebuilt the cv axles and how much were they? Also do you want to sell the battery box?

I did the axles. Full disassembly, clean, source parts necessary (from Axles Unlimited), grease and reassembly with GKN boots and fresh paint. Shop was taking too long so I bought another pair and did them myself.

She's getting aligned as I type this so it'll be back on the market ASAP!

I'd like the battery box to go with the car for now.

She's all good to go- back from alignment and drives like a dream on this new setup.

Hey all- bumping this thread to the top! I just went through and cleaned up the thread, updated the listing, redid all of the photos, etc. Car is ready for her new home.

Seems to be a good time to buy an alpine iX 4 door. Nice car with lower miles than mine, but mine is prettier and cheaper :)

Seriously though, this is a great deal and you can tell a lot of work has gone into this car. I haven't seen a better lineup of iX's for sale all at one time in at least 10 years and this will be the last time for awhile. If you have ever wanted an iX, now is your time.
