1211 Motronic CEL bad dme=not so...

I've swapped out 3 other known working dme's and I'm still getting a 1211 DME fault CEL light.

    car runs well...ish.

    m30b35 e30 swap.
    in 1990 e30 vert.

    thoughts?

    Is everything grounded properly?

      Define "well-ish". Drives normal?

When writing chips and not tallying the checksum, the ECU's do that to me. They will run and drive as the chip dictates, but the CEL stays lit. Seeing you have stock DME's that your are swapping, I am curious as to what would cause an internal ECU fault from something outside of it.

        I have 2 stock 179's and a Sssquid chipped 179.
        3 ecus' in total.

the sssquid ecu is 7k rpm, 19# Injectors and 93 octane.

the light turns in immediately upon ignition and does not reset whatsoever after a battery disconnect for 30 mins or ecu disconnect.

it runs "okay" as in it doesn't seem happy when you bring the revs up, the idle is hunting at times and overall doesn't seem as responsive as it once was.
perhaps unrelated, but u blew my turn signal fuse recently which may lead me to believe a faulty ground is at hand...
