found the reason why the black one had been leaking water in to the trunk. Rear valance had a "rip" in it, and one of it's spot welds had broken off. A bit of sandblasting and body adhesive took care of it.
A short clip taken while sandblasting: http://petrolhead.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Sun...-/MVI_2956.AVI
Also I made a tool for installing the plastic strip that goes in wind screen seal, for easier removal/install of the windows.
I've no idea what these are called in English, anyway "DIY dark headlights", work in progress:

Then came the shitty part.. Some previous owner had replaced the rear wheelarches, and done a baaad job. Large portions of them had not been welded, only hidden under a thick layer :-x of body filler. And now rusty as hell. Well I removed the rust a well as I could and bonded them on properly.
So, mix the glue....:
..and apply it between the prepped surfaces:
Same thing to RH side:
Now that I had the rear window off, I had a 35% tint put on it. Here's another short clip : http://petrolhead.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Sun...3%A4liaika.AVI
The doors also had some shitty repairs, now rusty (surprise!!). I ripped the welds off and sandblasted:
The other car, "superlite" project is just sitting there and waiting......

Bit of progress on the black one. I was kinda prepared to find rust and/or bad repairs from the rocker panels. Very little rust, easy to get 100% clean.
Car Systems 2 Component filler:
On top of that some 2 part sprayable sealer
Filler on the rest of the car:

The flag's not mine. We have a shared garage, 8 guys of us in all sharing the rent. Also that guy in the pic painting is not me, but a buddy of mine who knows a thing or two about painting. So best listen to him and do what he says. I myself am just a car mechanic, no degree in body repairs.

The car is far from perfect, thanks to me doing most of the prep work myself. Oh what the hell, I'll be behind the wheel and not outside looking at it. :)Last edited by petrolhead; 11-03-2012, 08:30 AM.

Work in progress...
Under construction.
I made a short videoclip of E30 wind screen /rear window install. Many people seem to wonder about what to do with the plastic strip that goes in the seal. I strongly recommend using some sort of lubricant also, makes it a whole lot easier. Same tool is used for removing the plastic strip.Last edited by petrolhead; 11-03-2012, 08:40 AM.
