So I go to adjust back of the sports seat and now it wont lock into position. wtf. Notice that there is alot of side to side play too. Its at a shop right now so i cant look more into it. Where should I start? Planned on recovering the seats at the same time.

I used to have the same problem with my driver's seat back not locking into position. When I had my seats redone I took both mechanisms and soaked them in a bucket of degreaser and brushed them as well as I could. After they're nice and clean, get some lubricant and spray in there.
***Make sure you remove the small shocks (2 on each side of the seat) before you do this or else the degreaser might mess them up.
After I did this, they work 10x better.

I did the same thing, clean out all the old grease that turns to glue over time then apply new grease, and they work well now.Comment
