Engine is very quiet for a S54, Starts and runs great, pulls smooth to higher revs, does not smoke, use oil etc.
Transmission Shifts very well, no noisy synchros, clutch is strong and feels good, shifter feel tight and precise

This was a grey interior car but was swapped to Black.
    Power, Non Heated Seats
    No Stereo
    Black Carpet
In Good condition, everything works correctly
    Air is ice cold
Has a factory Weighted Gear knob with suede boot

I bought this car a couple of years ago out of California, the previous owner went overseas and ended up staying longer than he thought so this car sat in the California sun and it baked the paint on it. When I got it I had a friend paint it for me and its not the best quality job, I would say its a 7/10, it was color match or corrected in places. The paint looks good but if you get close you can see some defect, overall its a strong 6.5/10, it cleans up and looks great and I always get compliments in it, there is ZERO rust or corrosion on this car as it came from Cali. It was a SMG Car but the pump was acting up and I have owned enough of these to know it was downhill for the SMG after that so I swapped it to a 6 speed manual by a local shop. has zero issues and drives great
. Tires are good but are mismatched front to rear, Michelins on front and Hankook on rear I think. Wheels have a little flaking on the clear coat but look good.

Price is Fair, its not the best example on the market but its a very good car for a fair price, in the years to come I will be saying I cannot believe I sold a Blue 6 speed manual for this Price (I sold a E30 M3 for $10,000 10 years ago !!!!) . Its got a clean title, its serviced and ready to roll. Please Contact me for more details.

this is absurdly tempting. If my 944 sells, I might have to scrap my plans of buying a beater...

              Sweet

Are there any lights on because of the tranny swap?

I am not sure about the E46 but on the E36, its a bit more involved (flash?) in order to make the swap functional without error codes or warning lights.

I suspect the shop was very detailed and did things right, the first time.

The swap was done well, I had the ECU flashed and all of the SMG stuff coded out, the window on the cluster that tells you what gear you are in is not lit up like it is on a SMG, the car runs and drives just like and manual car should drive with no warning lights at all, Cooling Fans come on correctly, no issues.

Transmission was changed not a converted bell housing. All new shifter parts so the shift feels very solid.

I thought it would sell fast at the 13500 price I had on it before, E46 community has some very strange people as do all car groups I think. The trouble is with E46 guys is that they are devaluing their own cars like 996 Porsche guys have done to their cars by over critizizing their cars, yes you will have to maintain your high performance car, yes it does have some design faults that need to be corrected but E46 M3's are probably the BEST performance car for the money you can buy !! They are getting close to the bottom price wise, sorted manual transmission cars will be worth twice what they are worth today within the next 5 years easily !!!

                    Beautiful specimen!

Have you had the standard pre-sell BMW shop inspection (engine, trans, suspension, etc) done. And if so I would love to see it!
