The clutch engagement is very abrupt. The engagement is not linear at all and if I try to slip the clutch when the car is cold, the whole car shudders like it's an unsprung hub clutch unless I let it bang into the next gear. Once it warms up it smooths out but I still find myself nearly stalling pulling away from a stop. Any ideas? Judging from the rest of the car it's most likely the original clutch.
If it matters, the engagement point is all the way at the top of the clutch travel. I do have urethane motor mount bushings, but my previous car had welded solid mounts and I could still slip the clutch smoothly. Thanks.
