A little backstory:
I got my E30 in early May of this year. I had wanted the car since middle school and was like a kid on Christmas day when I got it. I worked for a long time minimum wage (highschool, now college student) and drove 8 hours with a couple buddies to pick it up. The car was in great shape, had 189,000 miles on a working odo, and even though it was a 4 door and I wanted a coupe I loved it just the same. After about three weeks of having it the timing system went out and an older mechanically inclined friend and I spent about a week fixing it. I was upset but that's why I bought the car. The plan was to slowly restore it over time and make it into a good DD/fun car. Fast forward about 3 more weeks and the HG went out so that was replaced DIY as well. It sucked but was a good feeling to know that it was something I didn't have to worry about as well. Over the last couple months tons of time and work was put into it. A medium case 4.10 LSD was swapped in, all the fluids changed, all new belts, new water pump, new gaskets almost everywhere, all the works.
Now to the saddest day of my life. Driving home from the mall with some friends yesterday and a guy in a first gen Miata cuts me off, I hit the brakes and swerved but the collision was pretty much inevitable after he didn't yield to me. (I had the green light, he was trying to make a left into another street). The guy was really nice about it, admitted his fault, wasn't an asshole, etc etc but my car is most likely still totaled. There were no serious injuries; it could have been worse. The whole front end of my car is bashed in about 2 or 3 feet. :(:( This isn't the end, hopefully I get compensated well by insurance, and hopefully I can get back into the E30 game quickly and get another dream car!
