    Steering Wheel Shudder

When I am driving at highway speeds and touch the brakes and when I am under hard braking, my steering wheel makes this noise (not really knocking but a shaking "knocking" noise). Does this have to do with brake components or steering?

    Thanks

Mine is currently doing this too. I have narrowed "my" problem to the control arm bushings. M3 rubber offset control arm bushes are in the mail (Ireland Engineering).

if its only when you hit the brakes, then you may have warped your rotors.

It is not only when I hit the brakes. For example, when I was driving on a cobble stone street, it made the sound the entire time, every bump.

Tie Rods, Control Arms, Control Arm bushings.... those are all possible

could be the steering column... mine is loose and makes a clunking noise when i go ocer bumps and stuff.... it doesnt really shake tho..... you could check by taking off the three screws holding the knee guard on and an 8mm nut driver to take off the 4 on the bottom... grab the steering column and try to move it.... see how much play it has, and if it makes a clunking noise
