    Finally of age!!! Beverage suggestions?

Just wanted to let you guys know that as of yesterday, I'm of legal age to drink Here's the thing, I hate light beer. Never had many others. My girlfriend thinks I'd like corona. Suggestions for what I can start trying? I need to find something other than captain and coke.

I was thinking something a little less "hard drug" type. Maybe a bit more "brew" type.

You will like corona if you like cat piss.

Try anything by Flying dog. I love all of their stuff, but unless you go with the Amber ale it will lean to the stronger side. I prefer "Raging Bitch", it's a Belgian style IPA. 2 or 3 will set you straight so watch out.

If you go the bar, ask for a Double Liquid Cocaine. My best friend through highschool used to always buy me one on my birthday. He has since passed, so it's a tradition of mine to order every time I'm at the bar. It's something along the lines of Goldschlager, Jagermeister, and some other shit but it's amazing.

The double is optional, I actually drink it because I enjoy the taste rather than shoot it.

Also we have a few threads on here dedicated to this kind of thing. You gotta figure out what you like and go from there. I usually get big on Stouts in the winter, and go back and forth between IPA or Amber ales in the summer depending on my mood.

Avoid surgery drinks at all costs. Drink lots of water throughout he night to avoid hangovers.

        Enjoy.

When I was ahem, 21, my friend got me hooked on blue moon and I've never been able to drink budweiser since. I know "craft beer" is associated with hipsters but I was drinking it way before the stereotype ;)

Anyway just experiment around. Find a liquor store that has a good selection. And don't worry about price. A 6 pack of negra modelo will get you drunker than a 12 pack of buds. And taste a whole lot better

I pretty much exclusively drink Four Peaks Kilt Lifter. It's a local but I'd imagine you can find it since Four Peaks was (sadly) recently picked up by Anheuser-Busch. 6% ABV Scottish style ale.

Yea that's why it's hard to give advice until you know the kinds of beer you like.

I can't stand any wheat ale, used to like it but now I can't stand it.

Also, the cheap mainstream shit has it's place IMO. If I'm having a bunch of people over, they get bud/Miller/Coors, whatever. Only my closest friends get into my stash. But, I have no issue drinking a Miller light from time to time, kind of nostalgic.

My Summer go to this year has been Landshark. It's not terrible.

Most of the shit I like is all local brews though....but when I'm drinking to drink I don't like to blow through $12/6pack shit.

You really just gotta experiment. Usually I try to try things at various tap houses, etc instead of buying 6+ of something IDK if I'm going to like.

Can't go wrong with Newcastle Brown either....as far as supermarket bullshit beers.

^ Most of the things I've had from Boulevard are good. I have some of their ginger lemon radler in my beer fridge now.

The best brewery in America right now is Southern Tier.

                        Pretty much sums them up

Speaking of local brews, I've been wanting to try Treehouse Julius IPA. My bud and I are going up to the brewery this weekend to grab a few cans

Fair warning you are going to hate alcohol the first 3 times you try it. Especially beer that isnt easy to drink.

If you want to get into IPA's my current favorite is Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter, its a lot less bitter then other IPA's.
