    Oil Temp Sensor

    Hey All,

Trying to figure this out. Recently fixed my auxiliary fan so my oil temperature was consistently sitting at the 3/4 dash from the middle (awesome!). As of recently (especially when the A/C is turned on), the needle is no bobbing from that 3/4 mark, to the middle point between that mark and the center of the gauge, then back. It stays at the 3/4 mark when on the highway or at night, but during the day it bounces.

Any ideas what this could be? Coolant level seems fine, fans seem to be working properly.

To note, I did recently install a Dinan performance chip, but don't think thats exactly the cause of the issue. (could jus be that its been horribly hot here in Los Angeles lately).

if by 3/4 from middle you mean the first tick to left of middle then thats normal. bouncing needle is often the connection(s) on the back of cluster. there is a small nut remove it and clean with fine emery paper and tighten up they can be loose. i also clean the pin(s) that slide into the board for the actual gauge. in short there is some grounding issue start with cluster
