I also have one from an e30 I recently purchased. It is still in the car with a cassette in there. The owner was using it before he replaced the battery, so it will need the code. Throw me your best offer.
I have 10 of the CM5908s now, 6 of them for parts. Also have the cd changer harness to reverse engineer the track control bits. Will eventually get my BT+amp on with them

Some people are fine with aftermarket, some people prefer stock, or stock appearing. I like the idea of trying to keep the stereo stock looking but with modern amenities. Have always done that going back to my first car (1967 Chevy II Nova), stock stereo in the dash with aftermarket head unit in the glove box.
To my eyes, an aftermarket stereo sticks out like a sore thumb.
