    M20B27 Lower Timing Cover

I just started rebuilding the block of my m20b27 yesterday. I wanted to know if anyone has experience with the intermediate shaft seal and the lower timing cover. I took the crank out with the cover off and had the machine shop separate it all. The front seal and intermediate shaft seal would go on before the timing cover, correct? I've never built an engine before and don't want to mess this up, but the way the intermediate shaft seal fits isn't flush. Can anyone throw some stuff at me to what I'm doing wrong, or what's right?

press the seals into the cover before installing the cover.

make sure the seal sits on fresh part of the shaft as the seal often eats a groove into the shaft (rear seal is worst usually)
