    Sloppy Shifter (yes I searched)

I looked at Realoem.com and found it very helpful, I am still not sure what parts to order. Could someone point me in the right direction of what should be ordered.

Do you have an early model or a late model?

    For a late model:

Items 2,4, and 7 tend to wear out. Buy 3, since most people break/bend them on removal, and 14 might also be a source of trouble

2,4,7,12,14 (comes with 20 in it) ,15. You want to replace all of the at once since you are in there.

How difficult is it to get in a position to replace these parts? After dropping the drive shaft and exhaust is it still going to be a painstaking task?

after you drop driveshaft its easy, theres a clip were mounts to tranny, not selector rod, that you have to pop up and to rear of car and slide pin out, then just c clips and cple bolts, did mine with motor out tho,akg sells a nice delrin bushing for were the arm connecting to trans, and supposed to take alot of play out,i just bought a z3 shifter, its short and amazing n cheap,50 ebay n 15 for the bushing, im gonna order 14 tho since its out and all,was debating it

Getting #3 off is pretty tough with the tranny in the car. There's a harbor frieght tool that happens to be just about the right shape to do it and it's available for a few bucks, I'd go that route if I were you.
